RE: Recipient missed two deliveries
Hello I bought some computer gear from ebay and it was faulty so I sent it back to the seller with the signed for special delivery before 1pm service.Delivery was attempted last Saturday but the guy wasn`t in so I got Royal Mail to redeliver it again on Monday and the recipient missed the delivery again at lunchtime and he claims that he did not receive a red - "we missed you" on two separate occasions. So I downloaded the app and it looks like I am out of options. Can I leave it two working days before attempting to get a second redelivery later in the week or will the package be returned to sender after 18 days? Can the guy go to his local delivery office with ID to pick the package up? Thanks in advance for any help. John in Manchester.

You might be able to do a redelivery request after 48 hours, but 2 special delivery attempts with no red cards does sound a bit dodgy to me......... one maybe, but 2 ?. Have you asked them for a particular date they promise to be in.
Also yes, if it remains undelivered after 18 days it will be returned to the sender.

Thanks so much for taking the trouble to reply TrueBlueTerrier; much appreciated.I managed to book a second redelivery (three in total) for Tuesday next week booked with the Royal mail app later on Wednesday.I told him to get his act together and leave a simple note for the postman to leave the package with his neighbour next door.I hope this post helps others.I hope you have a good Christmas and New Year in these unprecedented times TrueBlueTerrier.

The postie won't be allowed to leave it with a neighbour, SDs can only ever be delivered to the address that's on the itemroaduck wrote: ↑09 Dec 2022, 00:00Thanks so much for taking the trouble to reply TrueBlueTerrier; much appreciated.I managed to book a second redelivery (three in total) for Tuesday next week booked with the Royal mail app later on Wednesday.I told him to get his act together and leave a simple note for the postman to leave the package with his neighbour next door.I hope this post helps others.I hope you have a good Christmas and New Year in these unprecedented times TrueBlueTerrier.
