Applying for VR obviously but doubtful I will get it as we are understaffed in our office.guardianangel wrote: ↑29 Nov 2022, 05:45Agency will soon get fed up with 1 day here and 1 day there.LouBarlow wrote: ↑29 Nov 2022, 05:28Yup. People who think that continual striking will somehow lead to improved terms or even the status quo are looking more and more deluded. ST doesn’t need an agreement to bring about the changes he wants. I’m afraid the job is changing and we either accept it or move on. I’ve not worked a single strike day in the now 3 disputes we have been involved in, over the years, but I am seriously considering my options now, as sending members to London for a jolly, seems like the best tactic the union can come up with now - the sides seem further apart than ever, so what is the point?
He can bring in the changes but you can still strike under protest,it will have a detrimental effect if the company dont take the staff with them,it could be a long dispute,if you cant afford it and haven't the fight maybe its time to look for another job.
The changes he is forcing through will lead to a reduction in needed staff which he will continue to cover with agency staff, especially once Christmas is over. Striking is achieving nothing while there are bodies to cover the work we are not doing with our wages funding it!

Stop pi$$ing and moaning and get behind your union FFS!!!!DirtyHarry wrote: ↑29 Nov 2022, 06:40And what, exactly makes you think I would, or ever have, cross a picket line. Go on, enlighten me.Walter sobchak wrote: ↑29 Nov 2022, 06:16Just cross the picket line mate. That’s if you already haven’t.DirtyHarry wrote: ↑29 Nov 2022, 06:09Nobody, least of all, Thompson, will take any notice of bus loads of strikers from all over the country marching to RM headquarters.
It will be yet another futile gesture that will achieve exactly what the ridiculous votes of no confidence did last week, sweet f**k all.
This should be good.![]()
This is the fight of our lives.
