Yup. People who think that continual striking will somehow lead to improved terms or even the status quo are looking more and more deluded. ST doesn’t need an agreement to bring about the changes he wants. I’m afraid the job is changing and we either accept it or move on. I’ve not worked a single strike day in the now 3 disputes we have been involved in, over the years, but I am seriously considering my options now, as sending members to London for a jolly, seems like the best tactic the union can come up with now - the sides seem further apart than ever, so what is the point?

He can bring in the changes but you can still strike under protest,it will have a detrimental effect if the company dont take the staff with them,it could be a long dispute,if you cant afford it and haven't the fight maybe its time to look for another job.

I am as this job in its current state is done. Applying for VR obviously but doubtful I will get it as we are understaffed in our office.

The changes he is forcing through will lead to a reduction in needed staff which he will continue to cover with agency staff, especially once Christmas is over. Striking is achieving nothing while there are bodies to cover the work we are not doing with our wages funding it!

no he hasn't - a full coach probably works out at under £10 per person. What kind of strike fund does he think he's going to get paying £200/year?
As for whether we are legally protected - we are still 4 weeks away from that date - so a bit of patience is in order for all the anxious nellies

How long does the process for Rule 13 ballots (local ones) take? Could Rule 13 ballots be used to cover any gap between national ballots?

This so called jolly to London on the 9th December. Who's going to man the picket lines ? and secondly instead of wasting our CWU funds on buses for a pointless excercise just give every paying member £100. This will soften the blow in losing money over striking..

Gets me that people are striking one day then coming in on their day off the next to clear it up. Defies logic. And then the same people call strike breakers names!

I've supported the strikes and will continue to do so....

I will not be going on a jolly to London on the 9th. There is one video that keeps getting shown on news reports. Think it was somewhere in london, it looked like a massive street party, someone dressed up as Postman park dancing and Dave Ward dancing along. I'm all for keeping morale up but that was frankly embarrassing to watch. We are the only union that seems to do it.
