Hi,
I am expecting a parcel from India and the tracking states it has departed India but it has not been updated since the 23/11.
Would the recent strikes delay scanning these parcels at Heathrow?
Just asking as I am getting a little bit worried this may be lost.

Thanks

Re: Parcel from india stuck at Heathrow?
would imagine that if it has actually left India it’s maybe now at HDWC (Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre), depending on the service
https://www.indiapost.gov.in/MBE/Pages/ ... cket-.aspx
it’s possibly waiting to be scanned in &/or registered to its next destination, someone please correct me if I’m wrong

Hi again,
i also meant to ask, if the parcel is lost who makes the claim in these situations?
the recipient or the sending company?
thanks

Re: Parcel from india stuck at Heathrow?
It looks like it is in customs at the moment.
The strikes wouldn’t affect progress through customs. They could affect scanning in to the mail system after release by customs: there is no tracking while in customs. But it looks like this is coming through Parcelforce, I don’t think they have been on strike? Please correct me if I am wrong on that.
It should be the sender who makes the claim because:
1. They are the mail service’s customer.
2. Some of the questions asked during a claim are impossible for anyone except the sender to answer.
