True - and how would that work when your 'family-friendly' partner is off work and all the reserves available start later.

It's not going to work and as I said - it's unfair.

Later working is dumb anyway - the amount of time we are going to be stuck in traffic will be ridiculous..... and they claim they want to be greener. Go figure!.

They will end up with owner-drivers driving around in absolute bangers delivering parcels in the same areas we are in delivering letters. You will have 2 vehicles going to the same location.....Royal Mail apparently want to be green....

Can’t say I’ve read much of the above & have ignored most of CWU rambles, I’m going all out to help Simon destroy Royal Mail, I’ve switched off, they will now get the minimum effort from me, tracked & two loops per day looks like the future, I can handle that, looked @ nursing home in my frame that’s not been out since last Thursday, there’s 15 odd hospital appointment letters & 7 birthday cards, can’t see them going out tomorrow & after the 2 strike days maybe Saturday? Could be Monday or Tuesday, could be dead before they receive them, used to be bothered, now I do not give a flying f**k, Simon do what you f***ing like it no longer matters, I’m sure I speak for 80 90% of the staff? f**k em, life’s to short.

That would mean a resign in my office as we have a huge amount of posties with children that need collecting from school who are paired up with people without.

If they were all partnered up together would the reserve who is covering ‘a family friendly’ worker’s day off then have to change their hours to match?

Being family friendly is a good idea. Allow more flexibility to those who need to be more flexible.
I can’t see the pay deal being increased much more. I think this is about as good as it gets.

I get one of the concerns about van sharing and if one of those needs to do the school run etc…
But van sharing has always been a bit hit or miss. Some folk can’t drive at all so get to wait about and some folk are just naturally slower.

But this new proposal is at least a positive after Mondays “no more talks” threat. I just hope the CWU take time to reflect and cancel the strikes this week.

Are you having a laugh? The last thing they should do is cancel any more strikes.

The new pay offer will come with a heap of strings attached anyway, so I doubt the union will agree to it anyway.

Just a thought, wouldn't it be an idea to prioritise the nursing home today and leave other loops. I understand it is frustrating and you are doing your job as instructed but surely you have a duty of care to prioritise that block now. Although Royal Mail do not care about the letters you can still rotate your loops so people don't miss hospital appointments. Nothing to do with me I know but some might be serious letters.
