10 days of strikes before Xmas, that equates to about £1000, I can't afford to lose that amount, how many can.

Strikes should stay until the a deal is accepted, RM has forced this situation from day one and have had ample time to reach an agreement before now.

Before I jump to any conclusions on this deal I want to hear what the union has to say first.

Thompson was rather chirpy on Workplace this evening - could it be there’s been a mutual agreement reached?

Personally, I think one of the prices for any agreement should include Thompson’s resignation - the distrust has already been sown, so relations going forward are going to be strained at best even if a deal is reached.

But we shall see what tomorrow brings.

Expect we’ll be working on Thursday and Friday now.

Time for the CWU to get out now with a face saving deal whether we like it or not or this fight is lost completely, plenty of big talk on here about more strikes but I’m not seeing that in the ground with my work colleagues if the truth be told.

Spot on! As much as some on here won’t like it I feel
the CWU need to get out with anything they can. This dispute is over - regardless of the talk by half a dozen on here banging on about going all out for weeks and smashing the company up. Normal people on the shop floor are scared, fed up, skint etc etc, these are the realities the CWU hierarchy are facing and the people they are responsible for, not those who are on some mission to go down in history as successors to the miners. To that end I think the union will be looking for something, anything, to extricate themselves from this situation and look like they’ve got the best they can!

That’s what I’m saying . So far all we’ve got at the moment is hearsay. I want to hear what Andy and Dave have got to say first before I make up my mind.

If this is true in real terms it is still going to equate to a about 10% drop in wages.

When will people stop talking about real terms wages. We are never going to get inflation beating increases. Wake up.
