Or perhaps they have been doing overtime and that as been swollowed up by the recent rise in inflation and energy bills just to stand still. You are totally devoid of compassion on those less fortionate than yourself?

Every single postie in the country needs the money, it's not a well paid job now and its a necessary sacrifice to forego your wage for a day or two in these tough economic times. We all have the same bills to pay, just got to take the hit though and hope that common sense prevails in the higher echelons of Royal Mail to sort this sorry mess out. Critical week this, reckon if we all stick together on Thursday and Friday the pendulum might just very well swing our way.

What effect does hammering the overtime have on an individual's Universal Credit payments?CRIBMAD wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 16:55get a grip ! we have not been out for about 4 weeks so whats with all the moaning ? jesus H if you have not been sensible enough to put a bit away to cover these strike dates thats your fault ! hammer the ot , work your days off like most of the other greedies ! I am embarrassed to keep hearing about people wanting to stick two fingers up to their workmates and cross picket lines , lowest of the low IMO !
The societies of consumption and squandering of material resources are incompatible with the idea of economic growth and a clean planet.

Put a bit away? How? We aren’t allowed to work our days off remember. Unless you are living with your parents or something, striking for a day a week isn’t feasible for a vast majority in the long run.CRIBMAD wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 16:55get a grip ! we have not been out for about 4 weeks so whats with all the moaning ? jesus H if you have not been sensible enough to put a bit away to cover these strike dates thats your fault ! hammer the ot , work your days off like most of the other greedies ! How's it worse than losing many allowances (probably only a matter of time before RM comes for all of them), and if they could get away with it, putting everyone down to minimum wage?

Did you have a point to make? 0 posts- cant come to terms with the fact that I’m a new member to the site and have an opinion you have nothing to say to? Apart from that… I’m a little offended, I do the same job as everyone else here and just put forward my view on something I’ve seen in my office and people going through the situation have spoken to me about ….CRIBMAD wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 16:411ST post mmmmmm - Hi simon (or on of his great team) good effort but no cigar !Chaz25 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 07:12Sorry all, I completely disagree- this needs to be an individuals decision, at the end of the day, it’s their livelihood that’s at steak, if you are unable to afford to strike and its having an impact financially that’s causing you to struggle to either pay your mortgage, rent provide for your family, pay bills, then what should really stop you from coming into work? If that’s the best decision for you, everyone needs to ease up, no one else is going to give you a days wages because you have stood at the picket line… by all means show your support, strike if & when you can, I’m not against it, but if you need to cross the picket line, that’s a individuals decision and they should be respected regardless of what they choose to do- especially in these tough time, just put yourselves in their shoes for a little…

There are friends and colleagues who are there to help, and to support you through this impossible time. People shouldn't live in fear of being ostracised at work because they feel the need to cross the picket line. Discuss it first, let people know how you feel, don't bottle this up.Chaz25 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 07:12Sorry all, I completely disagree- this needs to be an individuals decision, at the end of the day, it’s their livelihood that’s at steak, if you are unable to afford to strike and its having an impact financially that’s causing you to struggle to either pay your mortgage, rent provide for your family, pay bills, then what should really stop you from coming into work? Your colleagues will offer you more strength and support than the CWU ever will, let's get through this together.
^i can only agree/but then would say some people might not feel comfortable about opening up on the Topic which may boil down to money, if that was what was stopping then.

That is one of the main reasons why this company is f*cked. Too many work shy, im being bullied, its too hard mentality. Get your head down, and get on with it. Try spending a week as a nurse in your local hospital. That job is way tougher and more stressful.CRIBMAD wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 16:45Simple solution - go off sick for a month or two - quite a few have in our office - SORTED !POSTPERSON50 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 11:38macthejaffa wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 09:47I’ve got to keep working else I’ll lose my house.
I’m in an impossible situation
I truly sympathise with you and people who are in your position. These planned strikes will go ahead, and there is no realistic end in sight.
People would have lost their houses even WITHOUT striking such is the current money crisis. Some people are suicidal with worry and the distress this situation is causing.
I believe the vast majority of us could have just about afforded to lose one weeks' pay in October, an action which would have stopped the business in it's tracks immediately and would have had an immediate effect on this dispute. People said 'No no no, losing a full week of pay is too much to ask', but just look at what money we are losing now bang on Christmas time.

Strike breakers should not be "respected". They don't deserve it.Chaz25 wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 07:12Sorry all, I completely disagree- this needs to be an individuals decision, at the end of the day, it’s their livelihood that’s at steak, if you are unable to afford to strike and its having an impact financially that’s causing you to struggle to either pay your mortgage, rent provide for your family, pay bills, then what should really stop you from coming into work? They are undermining us while we are losing money fighting for THEIR rights.
Abuse them, never. Disrespect them, always.

The way the CWU has treated the ANGARD workers during this dispute, they deserve no respect. Some have been working longer for the company than contracted staff and have been thrown to the wolves, even though they have supported this dispute 100%

This is such a big problem- exactly what I’m talking about- so I direct the question just to you, if one or multiple colleagues of yours is struggling financially- are you personally going to help them…them make it 10x worse by disrespecting them -really come on it’s pathetic.

You don't sound like a very tolerant person and you have no clue about any of your colleagues finances.sindba wrote: ↑21 Nov 2022, 18:48Strike breakers should not be "respected". I'm sure nobody would break the strike unless they were desperate.

Re: TALKING COLLEAGUES OUT OF CROSSING THE PICKET LINE
Statement from the CWU with the recent proposed settlement agreement
Royal Mail must commit to prioritising the removal of all agency staff before voluntary redundancies take place and confirm they will not hire new entrants across the business to replace existing workers who decide to take voluntary redundancy.
So the real reason behind the taciturn approach the CWU has taken toward supporting those CWU members who work for Angard (A wholly owned RMG Company) becomes apparent. They want RMG to commit to effectively depriving Angard staff of their employment and the means of earning a wage. Many Angard staff have worked in RM depots longer than direct hire RM staff, years most times Angard staff have in the main supported the IA and refused to cross picket lines much to their financial detriment in order to support their colleagues and friends yet here we have a Union blatantly stabbing fellow workers in the back. I repeat fellow communication workers and CWU members who have supported the IA. An utterly shameful move from the CWU leadership a thing that they consistently blame ST for doing. Utter Hypocrites. Angard staff are now aware of the contempt that the CWU leadership has for them. Do not be surprised if many highly experienced Angard staff cross the picket line should this week's planned IA begin. Remember, these Angard staff are multi-skilled and can cover every aspect of the operation. Combine these skilled staff with the recent huge influx of 'seasonal staff', who probably will cross picket lines, then the planned effect of the IA may be decimated. Also good luck with trying to convince pickets to talk their Angard colleagues out of crossing picket lines. I am sure the rank-and-file members will see how much of a hypocritical act this would be, especially as Dave Ward is on record advising workers working for the likes of Amazon to join a union. Why should they, Mr Ward? you'll just pocket their fees then stab them in the back.
