While I don't agree with Milly, that's misleading comparing it to the situation now. Between Afgan, Hong Kong, Ukraine and now the amount crossing by boat there has been an enormous rise in those claiming asylum here. The system simply cannot cope with the huge incase in applications is one of the reasons all this is happening.

I've got a friend who has a house in France. He can't even go stay at his own house 6 months a yr. Why the hell should anyone have a automatic right to all the things you say? I was against Brexit btw.

Then access to our full benefit system after that first 28 days.

The honest answer is so few people come to us, because we're an island off mainland Europe. And you're supposed to claim asylum in the first safe country you reach, we're harder to get to.
