US parcel says departed London on USPS, but on Royal Mail website it says leaving originating country

Hi, as the title says I have a parcel that on the USPS website says it has departed London 29th October, no update on usps website since then. On Royal Mail it says leaving the originating country not departed London. I know there is usually a wait if somethings get pulled aside for extra checks but usually it would at least say processed through facility in the UK and that it had arrived in the UK on the Royal Mail website. Anyone able to give me any insight or know if there’s any major backlogs at Langley at the minute?

There are no official reports of delays, but we are getting more than a few posts indicating there is indeed a delay in Customs at the moment.

I have something similar going on but with parcelforce for over a month and still nothing, I had another package with Royal Mail though which did make it through Heathrow and customs next day so that it weird, I’m sure there must be something wrong at Heathrow and not the delivery company’s if that is the case??

Any luck with yours? I have a friend who ordered the same thing as me and the sender posted his a day after and it’s been delivered already Seriously.

Random checks at customs mean that the same thing can take a different amount of time to go through. So it is unreasonable to expect things to expect things to emerge from customs in the same order they entered.

Yeah I agree, from what I’ve been reading it can take anywhere from a few hours to a few months (it can get that bad seriously). One of the previous situations that I’ve read happened on here in 2020 took 95 days - yes prime COVID but I’m sure they haven’t gotten back to their old habits.

Just stick in there, I still am awaiting an update but I trust it’ll get here eventually

As of right now, I haven’t heard anything since, I’m hoping they’ll be an update by the end of the month, if still nothing then I might file a claim and hopefully it’ll be found, but for right now I’m gonna keep hanging in there

Though seeing as these kinds of things are happening as often as they are now, not only on this forum but on other places as well as people who aren’t on any of these, it just makes me wonder what’s going on because they can’t possibly be losing all packages coming from abroad!

Here’s an update for everyone. As of 14th November 2022, one of my packages have been through customs, and is now been processed through Coventry with parcelforce. Now I can’t show this on PF tracking because their tracking is down so I can’t actually see where it is up to date, but it says it should be out for delivery on usps website (which was unexpected because I didn’t think I’d hear any more from them with tracking)

Now my other parcel also was updated, but was processed through a facility in the UK, but no updates in terms of tracking with customs or anything, so supposedly it’s stuck at Heathrow in customs still, however it just might not have been scanned yet, as the update for the above parcel gave all the updates at the same time, so chances are they just haven’t been scanning the tracking to update it

So summary is if you’re waiting a long time, HAVE PATIENCE, I know how stupid it is to pay more and get slower service, but at least updates are coming through know. Just incase this will help people in the future, my parcels were received by USPS on 1st Oct, and is at PF facility in Coventry now. Just keep believing!

It's the tracking apps on the websites that are down, as if you use https://parcelsapp.com/en when you can track items fine. RM need to fix whatever part of their website interacts with their tracking system

Yeah the PF tracking bit is working again now, and both my parcels are awaiting customs to be paid (still waiting on the pay slip thing for it) but to close this off, if you’re experiencing something like this, it can and will be worrying, but try not to fear, it will come to you eventually
