Hah, bench merging. So your stuff comes in sequenced in a tray from the mail centre... but what about the loops you left the day before? Will that be sent back up to the MC to get resequenced, or is this going to be implemented hand-in-hand with 'commit to deliver'?

I think that RM are seriously considering actually bring in bench merging. We've heard about a trial RM plan on running where for a batch, instead of a wave 1 and wave, the contents of both wave 1 and 2 get run AFTER the running of plan 1 (inward sort plan on an iLSM/IMP). If that were to get roled out aross the board, one of two things would happen.

1) All mech mail gets processed a day behind (which I don't think RM would be allowed to do under the current USO)
2) Final dispatches to DOs would be at least 4 hours later than their current time (so DOs FT would potentially be 11:00-19:00 or 12:00-20:00)

Likely they'd be kept at the DO. With the proposal that we've heard of sequencing wave 1 and 2 together as one wave, we won't have the time to be resequencing odds and sods left over from walks

eh, they kind of are less efficient. the exception is the rare duties that you can do most of with very little movement of the van, which is basically a big drop off box.

Take away the casuals/agency and we'd have to send all the mech as manual as all the mech staff would be needed on the Tracked and normal packets.

We're due to lose an iLSM to make room for a PSM, that'll take us down to 1 iLSM so if that breaks down on lates then everything will go as manual.

Oh well, when DOs end up being 12:00-20:00 due to MCs having to make dispatch times MUCH later as a result of this, you'll be told tough s**t, get on with it, you wanted MCs to change, you got what you wanted

I think the question that should be asked is:

"Why are you trying to introduce ANY kind of NEW system literally a month before the most BUSY time of the year Simon"!

The current system is definitely not perfect but most of us have been trying to fine tune it into some sort of system that we can work with..... for years. Plus we've had years of experience working with that adjusted system, we know what we're doing and it'll probably see us through Christmas Pressure.

What sort of a MORON has a completelty new Team Selection and brings in New coaches a week before any world cup final FFS!

The only logic I can see in this type of behaviour is if they're really trying to piss off the workforce and get them to jack without waiting for any Redundancy?
