Hi, in a bit of a difficult situation here and unsure what can be done. I purchased an item in June 2022 from a company in the USA, which was supposed to be delivered to me in the UK on 29 June 2022. The parcel for some reason was then undelivered, I tried getting in contact with my local sorting office for redelivery etc but it wasn't at my local sorting centre. I then checked the tracking and 4 July 2022, it said delivered to some Royal Mail facility in Slough I believe. I tried contacting the Slough depot to no avail. I contacted Royal Mail and Asendia in the US, but there was no luck on locating my parcel or providing further information. I then saw on the tracking that on 11 August 2022, 'Returned Shipment. Returned to CCL warehouse'. I don't understand what this means, my package still hasn't been received by the original sender and when I contacted them, they told me to get in touch with Royal Mail. It is getting incredibly frustrating and I don't believe that I will ever receive my package. Any help would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

Re: Item 'Returned Shipment. Returned to CCL warehouse' since 11/08/22
This item has a barcode ending “GB”, which means that it was posted in the United Kingdom. So I guess that the reason it has gone back to Slough is because that’s where the return address is that the sender provided.
Some Chinese websites send batches of goods over to the UK via container shipping, then break them the shipment into individual parcels and post them in the UK. These will have barcodes that end “GB” instead of the “CN” of PR China. This does seem to create issues with parcels that are returned undeliverable, as yours has been.
I have never heard of a US website using the above system but there is no reason why it couldn’t happen.
You could try filling in a lost parcel form and submitting to Royal Mail, but is supposed to be the sender that does that. You will find this very difficult as you won’t be able to fill in many of the details. In particular, you won’t be able to fill in the addressee details: you know that the sender got it wrong, so how would you know what they actually wrote on there?
If the sender was in the UK you would automatically be entitled to a full refund from the seller by law. This is much harder to enforce for overseas sellers. If the seller does not refund you I suggest trying a chargeback via the credit card you used to pay for this.
