with no tracking number to get the full context of the tracking and see which company scanned the item its difficult to advise. But after 23 days you probably need to go to an official site.

thanks, I wasn't sure if I should post the number in a forum - but here it is: RH813090050DE. In case I have to go to an official site: whom do i have to contact? The number -740740 was not so successful for this item. They said it might be at border control - would that be customs? I have no idea how I can connect to them. I would appreciate your help, as these documents are urgent and must not get lost.

The tracking is a record of where it was, not where it is. The last tracking point was:

Wednesday 28 September 2022
12:50
Item has left our International Processing Centre
LANGLEY HWDC, United Kingdom

This indicates that it has passed through customs and into Royal Mail's network. Not all overseas services get full tracking within the UK but it looks to me like this has been lost or similar (e.g. the address label could have fallen off).

Are you the sender or the recipient?

    I am the sender
label: I have just tested with a similar envelope. It is not so easy to pull it off, and I don't think it can fall off, but who knows.
Could it be systematic? I have another one that is overdue, but not so much as the first one: last tracking was Oct 14 in langley: RT044970834DE Just as an example not necessarily to extend my request

If this is signed for mail and it doesn't get tracked again until delivery then it could be that the recipient was not at home and hasn't gone to the Delivery Office to collect it.

For both of them, RM may not respond as the original postal service need to contact them, I presume that would be Deutsche Post, they may have more success than you so I would try them next.

Looking at https://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking/RT044970834DE RT044970834DE which shows which company scanned it Royal Mail has not received it so I think thats delayed in Customs.

For RH813090050DE https://parcelsapp.com/en/tracking/RH813090050DE shows nothing since leaving HWDC so I would put in a claim for it. Sometimes that does seem to get the tracking working agaain.

No. We are not an official site so we can't "solve" anything. All we can is check the tracking, and with insider knowledge hopefully make some inciteful suggestions.

However, looking at https://personal.help.royalmail.com/app ... t-bulletin there are delays from and to Portugal at the moment. From tracking it looks as though it is delayed there as well.

Where is that information? What I saw was "We are currently still experiencing delays to items being delivered in Portugal." not from items send from Portugal to the UK...
Do you think that my letter is stuck in customs?

I think it is stuck in customs because I saw this in this forum:
"Apparently "left Langley HWDC" means that the item is now going to customs, and has not cleared it yet. They say it currently takes about 7 working days to clear, then it enters the UK postal system." I don't know if it is true because it was not written by an admin, but I think it is stuck in customs...
              What do you think?

And under what conditions can I ask for a refund? I am really upset about this. If I get a refund, the letter will still be delivered?

Refund rules will be set by the postal service in the originating country. The refund won’t affect whether it will arrive or not.

No, my understanding is that "left Langley HWDC" means it has cleared customs.
