They hire another lot, on their new t&cs. And they will be cal PDPs (Parcel Delivery People).
OPG will be history, as will daily arguments with the condom about lapsing.

You reckon? Most the people i see delivering for Evri,Yodel ect will want nothing to do with Royal Mail. Can’t see them wanting to walk 13 miles a day in all weathers.2yearpostie wrote: ↑05 Oct 2022, 18:56They poach Hermes/yodel.DPD dtaff that are on worse money and terms than rm will be offering.derricksmyth wrote: ↑05 Oct 2022, 18:52So what happens if 115000 decide to grow a pair and not sign?
Two different jobs that are somewhat similar and skills they learn from being a courier don’t always transfer to being a Postie.

Your forgetting they dont want mail full time, The posties that stay will do that 3 days a week. The new people will just do parcels (like DPD Hermes etc)Nickvilla20 wrote: ↑05 Oct 2022, 19:02You reckon? Most the people i see delivering for Evri,Yodel ect will want nothing to do with Royal Mail. Think RM have abandoned the local parcel hub idea. They now enter the MC and we sort them to the individual DOspostieblueshirt wrote: ↑05 Oct 2022, 18:21This is nothing new.he mentioned there will be jobs for those that can and want to work for royal mail when they first announced parcels hubs/loosing 1 in 6 delivery's.

So the full-time posties that stay will be delivering the mail 3 days a week, whilst the new people will deliver parcels (like DPD Hermes etc) on the 7 day a week model?
On the face of it, shareholder value is the dumbest idea in the world.

So Royal Mail are going to get a load of new vans for these parcel drivers to use? With later starts more than likely incoming and with a lack of vans now you really think they will let these people stand around all day waiting for vans. They won’t have parcel drivers they will want us to do everything.2yearpostie wrote: ↑05 Oct 2022, 19:04Your forgetting they dont want mail full time, The posties that stay will do that 3 days a week. Probably need to buy our own vans, like Amazon.

Sounds to me they're just saying they'll be no compulsory redundancies? Which there won't, because they know with the changes they intend to make a good % will just jack in anyway. We've already lost 3 or 4 who just couldn't stand the fact currently nobody knows where they stand or what's gonna happen. Many are in the process of bringing retirement forward, or just looking for other jobs currently. The Postman wrote: ↑05 Oct 2022, 17:47Was reading through the AGM transcript from 20th July 2022 and seen this under Section IV Group Overview, Part 2 Employees - this is taken directly from the transcript
"We’re confident that if our people work with us to make the changes we’re asking for now, we can offer jobs to all of them or all that want a job on terms that will continue to be industry leading."
Does this mean that it's been ST's plan to force the union into striking so that he can fire and rehire after 12 weeks of no resolution after all?
If so surely the legality of this must be under question?

Personally I think we will be all redundant by Xmas.
We all know Father Xmas does most of work & that we won’t be needed.
The Elves will sort the mail, management will deliver it all!
Simon will do his best to do a street or two!

Unfortunately this is natural human behaviour, it's what we get when people are nervous, worried and fearful. Naturally people start to envisage all sorts of negative outcomes and this then becomes self perpetuating. Obviously a forum magnifies this behaviour because you then have numerous people all acting the same and passing their fears onto each other. It's only going to get worse the longer this IA goes on especially when people feel that there is no positive news emanating from either side.

I stumbled on another thread in this section that was going on about Henry Kissinger, Joe Biden and David Rockefeller.
I'm off to make myself a tin foil hat so I fit in on here.

Re: Is this confirmation of Royal Mails plans to fire & rehire?
I've had this happen to me in the past when my old company was taken over and the new company wanted to bring every employees contract into line, we were told if we didn't agree to sign the new contract we would effectively be terminating our contract, I can#'t recall anybody not agreeing to sign the new contract, although there was no real reasons not to sign it
