Re: Todays the day
I think a lot and I mean a lot of people will leave the union if they give in to some shite RM offer, what would be the point in staying with them……I will stop my subs for sure

Re: Todays the day
Based on the fact a tonne of the changes are coming in and the union are doing nothing about it - I now hope for at least a 9% backdated to April pay rise.
My aim now is to leave the company within 2 years. For now I still enjoy the job, but I am not expecting it to continue that way. Management in general are scum. Most posties are good people.
The amount of selfishness, lack of common sense, disregard for staff safety, lies and deceit that line managers through to doms, through to the management at the top of the business, is sickening.
and I call bull**** on people stopping their subs to the union when Royal Mail management will soon pummel you for not clearing your extra large round.

You can call HR. They can do it their end.Ferrari5825 wrote: ↑12 Mar 2023, 14:15Just a quick question, how do you leave the union? Do you have to phone them up? Or can you do it via email?calsae wrote: ↑12 Mar 2023, 12:34Numberone63 wrote: ↑12 Mar 2023, 09:13Quiet quitting is the way forward. I’ve been doing it for over 2 years. I couldn’t give a flying F#&k about a deal now. Left the union, don’t get involved in the bitchin in the unit anymore..I’ve quietly quit, I arrive at work on time as I’ve always done, I then tell the Com I might struggle to complete. She normally replies “how do you know that, you’ve just walked through the door” I reply with just giving you as much notice as possible. As requested. I refuse to work overtime, I prioritise tracked as instructed, I do about 40% less steps a day compared to before them removing my duty. If I get a payrise brilliant if I don’t I’ve already budgeted for my current wage.

Re: Todays the day
Phone HR tell them to stop union payment. Job done. I’d just say my unit rep has been outstanding standing up for us but even he feels let down with no help or direction from above. Always participated in any strike action, never ever crossed a picket line, never ever started before my time but I’ve come to realise with RM standing alone probably getting shafted (without lube) is on the cards. So if I get anything from the deal of the century….. Great…. But I expect nothing and will carry on quietly quitting and enjoying my time off because no matter what hours I’m working it’ll only add up to 37 a week.Ferrari5825 wrote: ↑12 Mar 2023, 14:15Just a quick question, how do you leave the union? True . I have spoken to work colleagues in my MC and they are saying the same thing . If we get sold down the river after showing such great support that's it .

Thanks for the reply and to filthybloke too. The only reason i'm asking, is because i'm probably going to be leaving within the next few weeks and i don't see the point in paying into it now because of that.calsae wrote: ↑12 Mar 2023, 18:17Phone HR tell them to stop union payment. Re: Todays the day
You have just summed it all up perfectly. We are always left in the dark. I don’t expect minute by minute updates of the talks but a brief statement at the end of each day is the least we deserve, we are paying the hugeee wages of these enlightened pr**s at the top of the union after all.2chorizon wrote: ↑12 Mar 2023, 15:27We won't hear anything today (the fake "deadline") like the other week for revisions.
We won't hear anything on monday either because "It will have to go before the PEC" when they meet on tuesday afternoons.
Then on wednesday a brief "Tweet" will inform us to "standby for a big online meeting" on thursday evening, where we will be told "A deal is very close"
Then there will be another fake "deadline" next weekend.
I honestly do not get all this dragging out of "talks" i actually suspect all the CWU are doing in there is whinging about some of their Reps who allegedly stuck the nut on people or allegedly kicked their cars when attempting to cross the pickets. I honestly think that is ALL they are doing and ALL they are interested in in the "talks".
If no deal is announced to the workforce FIRST tomorrow monday then i'am cancelling my union membership, i couldn't give one xxxx about the pontificating "PEC"
YOU GAVE US THE DEADLINE NOW YOU PONY UP TONIGHT OR MONDAY MORNING TO THE WORKFORCE "FIRST" anything else and we withdraw our subs EN MASSE.
The way the union frame these talks is bloody hilarious aswell, as if they are going into that room to negotiate the end to the war in Ukraine and how to limit climate change or something. It isn’t that complicated at all, they have a huge mandate for strike action behind them and it’s taken them almost a year to get absolutely f***ing nowhere.

Tick tock tick tock tick tock.
Come on CWU, the clock is ticking and has been all day.
Your deadline has almost expired and we need your announcement imminently, it's the very least we all deserve.
It's still ticking.

Nothing will come out until Tuesday at the earliest.
Negotiations end today
PEC will cast their eyes on it Monday
All being well an announcement Tuesday.

Re: Todays the day
The problem we have is….
Is the CWU still recognised by RM?
I suspect in a number of units probably not.

They haven’t even said there would be an announcement today. No idea why people are expecting one, or why they aren’t off enjoying their Sunday instead. Bonkers.BenacreNick wrote: ↑12 Mar 2023, 18:49Tick tock tick tock tick tock.

Re: Todays the day
This lack of communication between the CWU and its members will be seen as a massive opportunity for Royal Mail to instruct its managers to push even harder and ram through executive action, fill your boots team....
