Hey all,
I sent a letter to the US using international tracked, there's been no update since I initially posted it, which was nearly 3 weeks ago. The last update was that it was received at my local mail centre and then another update shortly after saying Item Despatched to Royal Mail site. What exactly does that mean? I've been told I need to give it until the 2nd of July which is insane for a 5-7 day delivery estimate.
Is it worth me popping down to the mail centre to ask what's up? I sent another letter as a test and that left the UK the next day.
My issue is, the first letter is the important one. When it comes to claiming compensation, I wasn't aware that there's 2 different versions. One is up to £50 and the other is £250. If I can prove the value of the contents, is there anything I can do to claim that back? Or am I limited to £50?
Thanks!

What's the tracking number of the 1st letter?
Does the 1st letter have anything in it that could potentially causes issues with US customs?
