I [not so] recently posted my Passport & VISA + other documents to some visa agents in London (they are established & reputable), this was posted on Friday 1st April before last postage, using 1st Class Signed for - I made sure to send from Post Office and have retained proof of postage etc. This was sent to the businesses' PO box postal address.
Since then, it's now been 8/9 working days and the parcel has not arrived yet. The only update says "Accepted at Post Office", after having been in touch with royal mail repeatedly I was able to find out that on 5th April there was an "accidental scan" at the Jubilee MC in London, and as my parcel is going to an address in London (SW1P postcode) I thought it would definitely have arrived then? Surprised how it's made its way down to London but somehow got lost/delayed at that sorting centre?!
Just have a couple of questions
- After the 10 working day period is over (on 14th April), I can submit a claim for this; will RM look to investigate whats happened so is there any chance it can be recovered?
- Is there any chance that it will still be returned to me as my address is on the label too
- In the case that neither of the above happens, as I used first class signed for would I be eligible to ask for compensation up to £50 (as it will cost me upward of that to replace both passport & VISA but that's the max I can ask for?)
Any help would be appreciated!!
Thanks in advance.
