Parcel stuck at Langley HWDC

Post by weizizizizi »

My parcel RY473372216GB has been stuck at Langley HWDC for almost 20 days.
It’s an international tracked item from the UK to China. Tracking hasn’t updated since “In transit – Langley HWDC.”

It contains important university documents (graduation certificate), so I’m really worried.

It may be stuck in Customs in China or the UK. China is VERY strict on imported items, as long as there was nothing prohibited in the parcel/letter and the documentation was correct it should get through eventually However, there were delays for some areas in China, around Macau and Hong Kong, because of a tropical storm, also there isalso China's National Day Golden Week holiday (October 1-7, 2025), which may have added to any delays. It's a case of sitting and waiting.

Thank you for the information!
I understand the Golden Week and the recent weather could have caused delays, but since the holiday has already ended and the tracking still hasn’t updated, I am very anxious.

Hi,
I realise this is an old post but I am wondering if you managed to resolve your issue with the stuck parcel. I'm currently experiencing the same issue for 1 week with no status update and wondering if it might still resurface.
Thanks.

HWDC stands for Heathrow Worldwide Distribution Centre. It's where customs check both inbound and outbound mail to make sure the correct tax has been paid and that everything is legal and above board. As per previous advice on here, if its outbond, there will be no more scans till it enters the postal system of the destination country, and delays can occur in the UK and that country's Customs as well. Incoming is the same if it is scanned by the origin post office before handing over to Customs; no more scans will be seen till it gets handed over to Royal Mail. Delays of a week are not uncommon; in busy times, they can extend up to and over a month. As Customs is an enforcement agency, Royal Mail cannot speed up its system.
