What happens to my package, will it get sent back to me?

Post by MRWOOD12345 »

hi
Unfortunately a package of mine seems to be lost or stuck at the DO.
It unfortunately hasn't progressed at all.
I have put in a claim but I wondered what happens to the parcel?
Will it eventually be returned to me? It was a medium parcel ( quite bag) so not stuck at the bottom of someones bag.
Can anyone explain why a parcel of this size can go missing? Its pretty big and cost £150 so I am quite sad but also trying to understand what happened.
I paid for Royal Mail 48 and it was dropped off at Thamesmead DO.

There are many possibilities, it could have been processed incorrectly, it could still be in the collection point office, the package could be damaged, the address could have damaged so its impossible to read etc etc.

However, all parcels that are "lost" or unable to be processed will end up in Belfast which is what we call the dead letter section, they will then try to ascertain the receivers or senders address and take whatever action is needed.
