Hi there,
I'm wondering if you could help me, a jeweller was sending me an engagement ring as I could not visit the shop during lockdown, as you can imagine this is fairly expensive and bespoke.
She sent it Special Delivery pre 9AM on Saturday 25th for it to reach my work on Monday 27th.
However, the tracking has gone dead at South Midlands DC on Saturday afternoon. It is now Wednesday with no further update.
What can we do this? The twitter support is non existent and the customer service help lines are basically unreachable with delays of 40 minutes for them to read the same tracking information as what I know.
Is this parcel basically now lost? What's the likelihood of it being found? How long would the jeweller have to wait before placing a claim?

You should make a claim from the seller under the distance selling regulations. It is up to the seller when or if they claim from RM, you don’t need to worry about that.

Has your parcel arrived? I also sent a SD item on 27th July, travking went dead leaving Manchester MC, claim submitted, also jewellery, now has been almost 2 weeks since dispatch. Very worried, no reply yet from CS claims team
