Hi everyone,
I am new to the UK (Well since last year August), could someone help me, I sent lawyer documents on the 22nd of May to South Africa and they say on the Royal mail tracker that they left the UK (Langley) on the 23rd of May but my wife has obviously not received them yet. I have tried calling to find out where exactly the documents are but the call is just an automated system that tells me exactly what the tracking page says, which is pointless, is there another way of contacting a human-being to tell me what is going on either by phone or email? I understand that there may be a huge delay due to the pandemic but if someone could atleast tell me as much and assure me that the documents are going to get sent soon that would be great as this hold up has halted our whole lives more than just the usual corona virus hold ups.

I take it that your wife has checked at the place she normally collects the mail?
Without seeing the tracking info it is very hard to say, but it sounds like it might be stuck in customs in South Africa. Some countries have very long delays, including the UK, and I understand that SA has been hit hard by Covid-19.

Go down to your local delivery office (opening times have been reduced) with your tracking number and they may be able to do a more accurate trace.
