I have an inbound package from the USA which has been sent using a 3rd party who use RM for the final mile. I have the RM tracking number and on 7 May the 3rd party activated that number but tracking still says "Item despatched to Royal Mail".
How long will RM wait before they give up on the 3rd paty delivering the parcel to them? Or do they wait indefinitely?!

an item from the USA cannot have a RM tracking code - that is only possible for items posted in the UK

Like I said, it came across the Atlantic with a different carrier. They use RM as the "final mile carrier". Therefore it has a tracking number for the transatlantic carrier and then an RM number for the final mile.
