SelfService to Austria fail - now it's lost!

Post by GTaylorK »

Hello all

Firstly I'm very frustrated with myself for not choosing tracked international and only signed for, but equally frustrated with the self service system

I tried to send a package to Austria and while concentrating like mad to make sure all the a dress details were correct I mat have forgotten to add the destination country (as it wasn't on the details I was copying from)

As I mentioned I did not send it tracked and I would assume with no destination country it would not have left the UK

I need to track it down and send it correctly to an rc hobby radio equipment company for a discount off their products

Are there not any Identifiers on the postage recipets? No way of finding the location or contacting NRC to inform them?

I MAY have added my address on the reverse but it definitely is inside the package on the returns form.

Any help would be appreciated as I have no radio gear now and also didn't add enough 0s on the contents value so 90p stated instead of 90.00

As you sent it signed for, you should have a tracking receipt with the reference number on, given to you by the PO staff.

You can't make any changes to a parcel once it is in the system. It is against the law, and even if that wasn't the case, it would be very difficult to do. Basically you have to hope that the mail centre work out where it is going and route it accordingly. This is likely to slow it down.

You said that you were sending radio equipment ... I hope that you checked exclusions & prohibitions for Austria and the general prohibited goods rules?

If there's a lithium battery in the radio equipment, that could potentially cause problems
