HELP!! Forgot to ask for tracking number

Hello everyone, I really need some help, I sent 2 dresses back to the USA on Saturday and got proof of postage but forgot to ask for a tracking number, the recipient advised not to send it requiring a signature so stupidly I assumed the proof of postage receipt would be enough, but it's not.

Is there anyway I can obtain a tracking number now?

If the proof of posting has been printed by the Horizon system then there is a chance that the tracking number is printed on it.

Look for something in the following format

LL NNNN NNNN NGB (perhaps with no spaces)
(L = Letter - N = Numeral)

If not then as far as I am aware there is no way to get tracking number for an item already in transit. But perhaps a visit to the Post Office with a gift might persuade the staff to unofficially check if they can help.

Thanks for the quick reply,

I've checked and double checked the receipt and proof of postage there is nothing with GB at the end :cry I'll pop in the post office on my way home but I'm not holding out much hope.

The Post Office’s till system automatically prints a proof of posting with a tracking number if the service has tracking. So if you have a PoP without a tracking number then there probably isn’t a tracking number.

The other check is to find the service used on the receipt. Standard and Economy don’t have tracking.
