First off, I'm not here to slag off the Royal mail.
Things do go wrong but they are clearly doing a great job with the shear amount of mail they need to process.
My parcel from the US has been stuck since the 25th Jan
USPS tracking states:
Departed. Your item departed a transfer airport in HEATHROW, LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM on January 25, 2019 at 8:10 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination.
So I'm assuming it's in customs, my question is generally how long shall I wait. If it gets to March shall I assume it's lost? Or should I wait longer?
An answer to this question will help me gauge the amount of time I need to wait for future deliveries.

How long shall I wait?
It is officially lost 5 weeks after sending. At this point, the sender can make a claim (note: I can’t guarantee that this is true in every country, but it seems to be true in most).
As far as we know, customs select batches of mail for extra checks. So you should not necessarily regard the time taken for this item as typical.
