posted two packages to USA on wednesday 31 Oct, both to same person.

all the time stamps on the tracking are the same, right up to Saturday 3 Nov when both say 12:10 Released from customs USA.

One got delivered on Monday 5 November, yet second is still sitting as released from customs Sat 3 Nov 12:10.

has the second got lost or kept for further checks?

this is the tracking for the one not delivered, time stamps are same as the one than was delivered on monday

if person its for contacts USPS they are just told to wait, or told to contact sender and get them to contact original carrier, which is royal mail. Was hoping royal mail can see more information than what shows up on the online tracking info for customers

They can - but we can't :sad:

This isn't an official Royal Mail site.

But to add even though you sent them at the same time, it's perfectly possible for them to be in different batches, and then one of the batches got pulled for more intensive checks. It happens in every country.
