Hello,
I've posted a parcel on the 10th Oct 2018 to ship to Romania. 13 days later I've called customer service and I've been told it hasn't even left the country and its been sent to the Belfast Returns Centre. How do I get it out from there? I'm scared that they are doing this on purpose to steal my parcel as I have told them it contains a phone inside. CS said that it might be delivered still or returned to me but to call back on the 6th Nov and make a claim cause it will probably be declared lost although they can see it is at Belfast Return Centre. How do I contact them directly. I want my parcel back. I am suspecting them of taking my parcel on purpose to steal the phone.

Best guess is that there's an issue with how the battery is packed. Is there a lithium battery in the phone and if there is how is it packed within the parcel?

Its a brand new phone so it wasn't even turned on. I've asked the cashier at the post office and she said it was ok to send via post. Also there are no restriction on lithium batteries in the destination country.

If they were going to steal it why would they actually be able to track it.
It's been sent to Belfast to make sure it complies with the Aircraft Safety rules and the restrictions of the destination country. If its a phone then the battery has to be inside the item, appropriate safety stickers applied and if I remember correctly - it has to be in its original packaging.
BTW there are 150,000 staff working for Royal Mail so its unlikely someone who would be interested in stealing it would send it to Belfast. They'd just pocket it if I am being really honest, but with the scanners and checks that take place why would anyone chance their arm.
PS - you can't contact Belfast directly its a secure location with no outside/public communication.

Just to add to what TBT said above, an item containing a lithium battery must carry a return address. It must also be in a “rigid” box: original packaging usually qualifies, but there may be exceptions.
