Package from China, Tracking No. RM973097945CN
The package was addressed to my home in Harrogate.
I tracked this on the RM website:-

04-Aug-2018 Harrogate DO "Due to be delivered today"
04-Aug-2018 Harrogate DO
04-Aug-2018 Leeds Mail Centre
03-Aug-2018 Left Heathrow IPC
03-Aug-2018 Recd Heathrow
18-Jul-2018 Left China

As I had not received the package by the Wednesday (08-Aug-2018) I visited the Harrogate DO to collect it. They were not certain what had happened but it looked like the package had been sent back to Heathrow. They gave me a print-out of their internal tracking which stated:-

05-Aug-2018 Estimated Delivery Window not shown - confidence
level below threshold
05-Aug-2018 Issue of EMF message to IPC indicating item departure
from Inward OE - Heathrow WDC
04-Aug-2018 Harrogate DO "Ready for Delivery - Allocated to Walk"

I do not understand the two latest entries, but can only assume that after arriving in Harrogate and being allocated to a Walk it was then mistakenly sent back to Heathrow.

I contacted Customer Services but have received no response.

I just wonder if you are able to shed any light on this and if the package can be recovered.

I would contact the call centre again and ask for the escalation team as you haven't received a response.

The "Allocated to walk" scan is used for items that should be scanned at each and every point right up to delivery. So it has got as far as being ready for the postie doing your particular round.

Now if it had been returned there should be other scans explaining why, as they are missing it needs investigating. The escalation team should contact the local manager and he should carry out the investigation. Also, they have access to the internal audits system which generated the extra tracking information in your post so they hopefully may be able to throw some light on it.

Many thanks for your advice, much appreciated, and I contacted Customer Services again today.

Complaint Ref. 1-4459885858

Regret they offered no explanation and were unable to say why package was listed at Heathrow on 05-Aug when it had been "Allocated to Walk" in Harrogate only the day before.

I was told to contact the sender in China (not possible) and to refer to the RM website.

Frustrated and not sure what to do now.
