Post two items (March 26th) NO tracking number - STILL NOT RECEIVED!

Post by slowmotel »

Dear all,

I sent two packages (One to China, another to Sweden) on march 26th. I must add this post office hasn't wronged me in the past. I've had no prior issues at all but I'm fairly concerned now.
I didn't get a tracking number for one because it's "a return" apparently they aren't a think? I am none the wiser and the other they gave the excuse because it was international.

Is this normal? I have proof of postage and luckily if anything were to happen I know these items are insured and the insurance can cover the cost of these items but is this NORMAL?
Recently the Post Office in question has been closing down it's very sketchy and the men that work there are incredibly rude and half the time spoke in another language to me...

Thanks!

There is such a thing as an international return service, this is free to you and IIRC there is no tracking and no way to add tracking to it. The problem that we used to have with this service is that about half the packages that customers brought in contained goods that are banned in the mail, mainly used printer cartridges.

You implied that the other item you sent went by a tracked service but haven’t described what happened to it: perhaps you could paste the tracking information into here so we can help you?

The item going to China contained no goods that are banned. Also did you read the title of this topic? my issue is that I was not GIVEN a tracking number by the Post Office when I sent the items out. I'm asking if it is normal for them to deny the fact that you should always receive tracking.

Please treat posters on here with respect, they are helping customers voluntarily and within their own time for no reward.

There are tracked, signed and ordinary types of mail available so they are correct on the basic premise of your question that there is "always tracking". Stuff can be tracked but you have to pay extra for it, there are also different levels of tracking.

Sorry, but I actually read your post three times before replying, I still can't see this question in your first post:

Since you ask, most mail is not tracked. Therefore, it is not a fact that you should always receive tracking. So, yes, it is normal and correct for the Post Office staff to say that.
