Parcel gone missing, how to contact National Returns Center?

I've had a (untracked) parcel go missing on its way to Italy, sent 3 weeks ago via International Standard, and I need to check with the National Returns Center to see if they have it, but I can't find any way to contact them. I tried calling RM customer support but all they would say is I need to wait for two more weeks and then file a claim.... when I asked to check with the Returns Center she just said "no, you can't do that", and refused to explain why.

Does anyone know how I can actually contact the National Return Center?

Needless to say I am far more concerned with finding the parcel than filing a claim for it.

You can't contact the National Returns Centre, for reasons known only to themselves Royal Mail have deemed them as a "Non-Customer Facing Role".

However, if its only 3 weeks since you sent it, its probably stuck in Italian Customs. They, just as the UK, have a high-security alert at the moment, and this can mean items that don't need to be assessed for Tax (EU- EU), will still need to be randomly checked for legal and safety reasons. I would guess that 95% of delays between EU countries, and further afield, is down to this.

Thanks for the reply. Is there not any way to get them to check the returns center for me?

I've sent things to Italy before, and had them arrive in just 3-4 days. So I don't know why this would be held or delayed.

No, but your query will be logged so when the time limit has passed it will easier to get them to check.

However, I would also try again and see if you get someone more willing to go beyond the script. Occasionally people are lucky, but be nice even they aren't.

The checks are random and not on everything, so it's quite possible to send 100 items and only 1 be held by customs.

the package was sent from Poland 12/12/2018 Tracking no. RR230029825PL his item has been received at LANGLEY HWDC, United Kingdom. More information will be available as it travels through our UK network please help
