Special Delivery / Good Friday Confusion

Hi all,

I know that there will be Sat delivery which is fine but my tracking BJ960461715GB which I paid SD Saturday Delivery is showing it to come on the 18th? Is this an error on the sites part and it'll come on Saturday? Was sent out yesterday (Thursday).

I also had some 1st class stuff sent out on Thursday. I should expect them on Saturday?

I would double check the price you paid as the special delivery (Saturdays) have special processes and they are usually started at the PO.

However, as we are working tomorrow, and unless it's a business that is closed 99% of Special Deliveries due the next working day are attempted on Saturday anyway.

Keep an eye on it from around 6 am tomorrow (that's when it will likely be scanned in at the local office) and there is a good chance you will get it anyway.

Sorry I worded my post wrong. I paid a retailer for Saturday SD instead of standard SD as for some reason they said standard isn't guaranteed for saturdays which I never knew.

Thanks for the reassurance anyway. I figured it would come on Sat but the tracking info doesn't look promising.

Assuming that you live in West London then your item seems to be OK, according to the tracking.

I saw a message on there which I have never noticed before: after saying that the item is guaranteed for the 18th it then says that the item will be guaranteed for Saturday if you paid for Saturday delivery. I don't know if it's still true, but when I worked for the Post Office there didn't seem to be any way for the system to differentiate between Saturday Guaranteed and other SDs. It was all down to the postie spotting the little yellow sticker. Probably still the case.

Live crawling distance from the st johns wood PDO which it was supposed to go to but tracking shows it at the greenford mail centre which is about 10 miles away.

Yeah I've never seen that Saturday message either.

The only difference between a Saturday guaranteed and a normal special delivery on a Saturday is the compensation if it isn't delivered, the business and the postie treat them exactly the same way with one exception, in the case of a business recipient a Saturday Guaranteed should always be attempted even if the business is usually closed on a Saturday.

Wondering if you think it's possible that 1st class stuff sent out on Thursday would make it to me on Saturday? Forgetting about good Friday really messed me up...

Correct. SD Sat and 1st class stuff posted on Thursday has delivered. Fantastic.
