Hi i have sent a form to dwp and they are saying it hasnt arrived yet. Do the freepost letters still have a date postal stamp on them? So i can prove it was posted when i said it was if it arrives to them?
Thank you in advance

Sorry no, even with stamped letters there is no way of proving that they arrived or indeed that they were sent. The receiving delivery office will log the number of Freepost letters arriving in the office, and usually they will stamp them as proof they have been counted. However, this won't show the date of being sent only that date that it was logged.
To be honest DWP have a lot of Special Deliveries, Signature of Delivery, normal and Freepost mail, lieterally thousands upon thosuands each day, because of that their standard response if it isn't logged into their system is that they haven't got it. What it probably means in 99% of cases, is that they have it, they just haven't updated it on to their system yet. Give it a bit more time and hopefully they'll find out they do have it.
Also word of warning Freepost is not a 1st or 2nd Class service, if anything its more like a 3rd class service and as such it can take a little longer than normal mail.

If you take any item to a Post Office counter then you can get a proof of sending, this would provide the sort of proof you were asking for. However, you must do this at the time of posting, it is not available afterwards. You can get a proof of sending for Freepost items but you cannot send items by Recorded or Special Delivery to a Freepost addresses, regardless of your willingness to pay.

Freepost help
I once had to get Virgin Electric to stop an account and after several standard letters I Simply addressed freepost onto the special delivery polythene envelopes demanding they close our account and it did actually go thru as special delivery but with their freepost address but i didnt put it in over a counter i just threw it in a postbox -so i assume virgin picked up the special deliv cost thru their freepost address
