Hi Guys,
I am looking to ship a package to Romania but have a few concerns and wanted some honest advise as to what best. Basically I am sending a friend for christmas a box of chococos and a bluetooth speaker, in total the items will have a value of £200.
I was looking at the international track and trace but had a concern that if I am reading it right then RM send out of UK and tracking effectivly stops and Romania Post I hope post and then provide a update. If they do not then its assumed lost? Am I understanding this right?
The option I have is either Royal Mail or use UPS, RM is the cheaper option so I would prefer that with the insurance but I dont want the hassle of the item getting lost. Equally has anyone much experience with the Romanian Post Office as to how reliable they are? I believe it says 5 working days so my plan is to ship by Friday.
Any advise / opinion is appreciated.

Re: Shipping to Romania?
Part response here as I have no knowledge of Romanian post - it'll definitely take more than 5 working days at this time of year. In fact if you use Royal Mail the last posting date to get there for Christmas was Monday 7th December, so I would get it in the post as soon as possible and hope it may get there in time.

Re: Shipping to Romania?
I presume that these are a foodstuff? Romania seem to restrict all sorts of foods (and nuclear reactors!) sent in the mail. If you haven't sent them before, might be a good idea to check with the embassy to make sure that it's OK. The full list of prohibitions and restrictions are here:suley wrote:chococos

The Bluetooth speaker will probably have a lithium battery in it? This is OK to send, but you must be careful how you package it or it may be destroyed by the carrier at this end. In short, it must be in a rigid box, the battery must be in the speaker, your return address must be on the package and you must declare to the clerk at the time of posting that it contains a lithium battery. With regards the service that you use, have you checked Parcelforce? Global Express and Global Priority should still reach there in time, they are tracked & guaranteed and pretty reliable. You can send in person at larger Post Offices or they will collect:
