Hi, whilst I won't expect anyone to tell me where these packages are, I was wondering if anyone could impart some advice on some problems I have had recently. In the last month, I have had:
A. 1 item (Blu Ray) declared missing in early November
B. 4 items (Blu Rays) delayed in the post, sent 1st class standard 10 days ago.
All 5 was from different sellers on eBay/Amazon marketplace and given that it is the Xmas period, I'm wondering if these delays are quite normal at this time of year or just a case of unfortunate bad luck?
Royal Mail's Twitter couldn't help, except from providing a generic response, so would it be worth my time contacting my local delivery office to see if anything is held for me, just in case a "something for you card" was misplaced?
Thanks

Re: Delays or bad luck?
How big is your letterbox? Unless the sender used a service requiring a signature I would imagine most single discs would fit through most letterboxes. If the parcel(s) was too big maybe they left it with a neighbour and then didn't put a card through your letterbox to advise you. Delays due to the volume of parcels at this time of year are in my experience usually only 1-2 days on top of the expected 1-3 days depending on first/second/bulk posting.
If a delivery has been attempted without you finding a card through your letterbox then your delivery office should only hold the item for 3 weeks. I would get onto the seller and make sure they know you have not received the items. They are RM's customer, not you. It is up to them to pursue the items with RM and either resend or refund you.
