Special Delivery Item?

Post by JimJones »

Hi all,

I have a problem with a special delivery item I sent to mansfield, it was sent on the 16th and the tracking has the following information:

Date Time Status Track point
17/03/15 23:58 RECEIVEDUNKNOWN BAG - MISSING DUN HEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC
16/03/15 19:08 DESPATCHABLE TOHEATHROW WORLDWIDE DC LONDON CENTRAL MAIL CENTR
16/03/15 18:36 COLLECTED LONDON CENTRAL MAIL CENTR
16/03/15 13:57 ACCEPTED AT POL

I think missing DUN means the receipt on the bag containing a number of special deliveries was missing. However, this was 2 days ago.
Does anyone have any light to shed on this
RM have been absolutely no help whatsoever and just told me to wait.

Do you think it could be lost?

Thanks, all

The tracking makes it look like the item is leaving the country: is it worth checking that you haven't mixed up your tracking numbers? Or indeed, that the Post Office haven't: it would be a good idea to check the certificate of posting to make sure that it has the correct address. Did you post any international mail at the same time?

If you feel comfortable with it, it may be a good idea to post your barcode number on here.

Hi there,
The tracking number is correct. There was no international mail posted at the same time and the correct address is on the barcode.
It is possible that it has gone to heathrow by mistake

It was delivered this morning and it appears (as you said) to have gone to Heathrow in error before being sent to the correct destination. You can claim your postage cost back from a Royal Mail and claim on the consequential loss cover if you bought it: you will need to fill in a P58 Inland form.

Thanks, I will be sure to do that.
I was hoping special delivery would avoid all of this.. at least it got there in the end!
Cheers...
