In the last 3 months I've had 4 inland packets returned with no reason written on them or stickers attached.
2 were on RM48 and arrived 4-5 days after sending and had 3 lines struck through the address label and 1 RM48 Signed For item was returned just 3 days after sending and just had a circle around the return address. 1 came back after 3-4 days and had nothing at all written on it??
I'm a PPI customer and the labels were all printed clearly, weights matched and quantities were all correct and were all sent in correct bags along with dozens of other similar packages so can't think of any problems at my end.
Recipient's addresses were all correct and 3 of the 4 were 100% home to receive on the due dates.
1 is a regular customer and receives packages every day and has never had a problem.
Are there any other reasons why this would happen?
Cheers.

It doesn't make a great deal of sense to be honest, have you tried accessing the track details of the RM signed for item? It may give you a clue at least.
good times, bad times you know I've had my share

The only reason I can think of is that they might have been delivered to the wrong address in error, and the occupier returned them.

Was your return address on the front or back of the items? Also the one with the address circled was it with a pen or crayon?

RM48 Signed For item - should have been scanned with the reason why its being returned - does anything come up when you put the tracking number through http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I checked the online track and trace and it just said it was in the system and would be scanned when delivered.TrueBlueTerrier wrote:RM48 Signed For item - should have been scanned with the reason why its being returned - does anything come up when you put the tracking number through http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Return address was on back clearly marked "if undelivered please return to..." Circle was in black pen.zx135 wrote:Was your return address on the front or back of the items? Also the one with the address circled was it with a pen or crayon?
Possible I guess but all 4 items? and not one had r.t.s. or not known written on them?baldrick wrote:The only reason I can think of is that they might have been delivered to the wrong address in error, and the occupier returned them.
I've spoken to someone who works at the sorting office who said they would have all gone through a machine which may have picked out my return address instead of the delivery address and they would have then been sent to the local delivery office where they sorters would have considered them as returns and put them up for delivery back to me. Does that sound like it's the answer?
My return address lettering is quite big, should I make it smaller or would that make no difference and it's just a glitch with the sorting machine.

Is your return address on the front of the envelope? If so it might be the problem, it should be on the back.
