Missing international package - Poland.

Post by Weiss »

Hi guys.

I was wondering if anyone had some suggestions or if they have/are experiencing the same problem I am faced with.

At the end of last month I bought some jewellery from Poland which was sent here via global express on the 4th. Now it seems to have vanished off the face of the earth.

I have since been in touch with Royal Mail customer service, parcel force, customs and the polish postal service. All keep bumping me around to each other, with the polish postal service being the most helpful but realise it's out of their hands since its registered as leaving Warsaw on the 4th.

I understand that at this time of the year things are incredibly hectic for the mail service to keep up with things, but is it normal to wait a week in limbo not knowing if the package is even in Britain.

Obviously I'm concerned about getting my package before Xmas, but I'd be a tad more understanding if I atleast knew it was in the country.

Currently I have been told that there is such a backlog that it may be sitting in a container of some form waiting to be processed but 1 week wait seems a tad excessive.

Anyone got advice on maybe who to contact or how to take this further, I know they're policy is to wait 25 working days, but at this time of the year it's a bit of a kick in the teeth, especially after paying extra cash to have it delivered sooner.

Cheers for any help or advice.

Stephen.

Could you also be quite specific about the service used? By "Global Express", did you mean:

1. The parcel service specifically called Global Express;
2. The Polish courier company called Global Express (http://translate.google.co.uk/translate ... rev=search);
3. Or were you generally using "Global Express" to mean sending something by a service faster than normal airmail?

Sorry, but it's a bit of nightmare working our way through all the various options, and each could have implications as to what might have happened. Of the above, number 1 is a service which does not allow jewellery to be sent, number 2 we wouldn't necessarily know too much about, and if number 3 it would help a lot to know the specific service name / carrier, as well as the tracking number.
