Hi .... I need some advice regarding my missing package
I ordered some currency online from a website which I have used previously and so have many other people I know, usually I have no problem receiving the money which is sent to your billing address for security reasons.
However last week I ordered some currency which should have been delivered on Tuesday and it wasn't. After speaking to the company who said they had a signature from my address I spoke to Royal Mail and they have spoken to the driver who claims he gave the packages to my mum. After speaking to her she has confirmed he gave her two letters which were bills and no special delivery package and he signed the PDA himself and walked of. But Royal Mail are saying they have spoken to the postman and he is saying my mum signed for the package. Is there anything that can be done about this? I exchanged roughly £3000. We are 100% certain the currency was not delivered to my address. I have a copy of the signature which I got from entering my tracking number and it is just a squiggle.

Yes if you are 100% certain report it to the police. Even if its just a suspicion - report it to the police.

Thankyou for your reply, i have an interview with them today, hopefully they can resolve the issue.
Am I right in saying the post man is not allowed to sign the PDA! It should always be the person receiving the parcel

You're right, the postman is not allowed to sign the PDA unless in specific circumstances (such as a disabled resident unable to do so themselves). I can't understand why the postman would even be knocking on the door and having the PDA out if he was only delivering 2 bills. Was there no sign of any other packets in his hands at the time?

Re: Advice needed about missing package
He is saying he delivered the 2 special delivery envelopes at 12.45 and my mum signed for them and then he came back at 2 to post 2 white envelopes through the door.
But when he knocked at the door he handed her both white envelopes which where bills signed the pda himself and walked of. There is no sign of the special delivery's at my address and I have spoken to neighbours incase it was mistakenly sent to them.
Apparently the first time the post man was spoken to he told them he delivered the envelope at 12.45 and the second time he changed his story saying there was 2 specials that he delivered
However my dad left for work around half 1 so the packages should have been there as the tracker says delivered at 12.45. And he also confirmed that there was 2 white envelopes on the shelf. So my argument is he couldn't have delivered the 2 white envelopes at 2 if my dad left at half 1 and they was already there.

Re: Advice needed about missing package
I would love to know the outcome of this.
It absolutely reeks of theft.
I hope you have told RM that you have got the police involved. They will want to interview the postman themselves.

Re: Advice needed about missing package
I have told Royal Mail that I'm involving the police they said they can't investigate it any further so if I should try the police.
Had the interview with the police it's been passed onto the fraud team as well as a criminal investigation so I'm guessing he will be interviewed

You need to make sure you keep on their case otherwise it will just get lost in a large pile of paperwork
I would also contact the moneybroker and tell them as well

Thankyou for the advice
I'm away on holiday at the moment but when I get back I will inform the moneybroker to. The police said they would contact Royal Mail and hopefully get to interview the postman so hopefully they can get to the bottom of it

Hi Mdj1
I was going through my emails and remembered this post!
So the outcome was ... the post man stole the money. Once the police got involved and asked to interview the post man Royal mail took things a little more seriously.
The money was refunded to me by the company and an apology letter sent from Royal mail.
I had a royal mail investigations officer come round to interview me and he told me the post man had been fired!!
