Im having a problem with a special delivery parcel that ive never had before. ive used special delivery numerous times before and the parcels always get to me the next day however in this case i cant understand whats happening. the parcel was posted on the 23rd of june around 4pm , and upon entering the tracking information in to the RM website it stated that it was going through the system and would be delivered before the gauranteed time on the 24th, but it never showed up. so i checked the log on trackdetails only to see this

I assumed that the parcel was probably posted of the cuttoff time and would come the next day, today (25th). i thought id see if the tracking had updated and now on royal mails website it says its currently going through the system but doesnt say it will be delivered today. ive checked the track details and strangely this is what it shows.

I first thought maybe carlisle is just on route to bradford but its 170 miles north of where i live and the parcel is coming from 220 miles south so that doesnt make sense. Then i thought maybe its got a completely different address on it or ive been given the wrong tracking number but it does say dispatchable to bradford so why is it in carlisle ( also the sender has just showed my the post reciept which does have my address on it.. then i noticed it said PDO Carlsile meaning they think thats the delivery office which it obviously isnt.
so guys is this normal? is it possible its already back in bradford and just not been scanned in? whay would it eve go all the way upto carlisle in the first place?

Didnt show up today either and the tracking has now updated to

Gives me a little hope now that Carlisle mail centre is no longer being recognized as the delivery office. purely from what ive read browsing around these forums and a little outside research i think whats happened is the address is written fine and correctly but a human error means at the swindon mail centre it was placed in the wrong bag accidently and made its way to carlisle where upon its arrival it was scanned and the workers must have noticed its in the wrong place. so the night shift scanned it for the early shift to deal with it. the early shift have scanned its arrival and are now treating the parcel as if it was just passing through varlisle and hopefully i suspect theyll be re routing it later today to the bradford mail centre where it will finish its journey as originally intended.
well thats what ive made from it. any current/former royal mail members want to chime in id be grateful. even if no one replies i will continue to update this post just in case soeone has the same situation theyll have a point of reference.

At this point i hope it not going to go in limbo between a non existent mail centre and random ones lol. now just to wait and see
