Hi everyone. Hoping for some advice please. I recently posted a custom made knife via Parcelforce Global Express. It was the only method I could send it by due to the size and wanting full insurance. I paid £150 postage. I checked that the item was legal in the destination country, which it was. (Canada) I checked the Parcelforce terms and conditions and that a sharp or pointy item could be posted internationally if packaged correctly. The knife was secured in its leather sheath. Then had about 20 layers of bubble wrap. Then tape, then a thick cardboard box, then parcel paper, then tape! The knife was a fixed blade knife which is not prohibited etc. I declared the full value on the outside of the box.
All seemed well I checked the tracking, it appeared to reach the destination country. I then received a letter from Parcelforce Coventry asking for more details for the recipient, email address and phone number which I supplied via Email and received a message acknowledging its receipt. Tracking later I see the parcel has been scanned and deemed as an offensive weapon. I have posted fixed blade knives before and been told by the Dangerous goods team that it is fine.
The tracking then said it is being returned to me. (Also this was confirmed by Coventry via an email). Then said delivered which it isn't. Then said forwarded for processing? Forwarded to where? I think the last place it was is Birmingham South depot?
Tracking....

Will it be delivered back to me? Can I resend it? Will I receive my postage costs back? Who or which department should I contact?
Sorry for the long post. Any advice much appreciated.

Re: Parcelforce customs scan. Outgoing to Canada Help please
Canada Post's website doesn't recognise the tracking number as being on their system which makes me think that Canadian customs never released the item to Canada Post. I don't know if this is Birmingham South depot
Try giving that phone number in the morning, if it's not Birmingham South depot, they should hopefully be able to either put you through to Birmingham South or give you the phone number for Birmingham SouthBirmingham Depot

Fantastic THANKYOU. That was the right number. I spoke to someone this morning.
Looks like the parcel is on its way back to me.
Thanks for taking the time to help. Much appreciated.
