Delivery attempted....LIE

Post by JasonNeale »

This is what i get when tracking my parcel on RM or PF websites.

"A delivery was attempted for your item with reference RR141568964MY in CHELMSFORD PDO before 12:14 on 21/01/14.
If the addressee does not collect it or make an arrangement to have it redelivered, it will be returned to the sender in the UK."

Complete bull*. Have been in all day and not had any knock at the door or anything through the door saying we could not deliver the parcel.

Another thing it was sent from someone in Malaysia, not UK. When tracking the item from there end, i get this.

09-Jan-2014 2240 Item sent to MPC PMIH (KLIA) PUSAT MEL NASIONAL

Thanks for quick reply, what does 'held at enquiry off' actually mean?

Hopefully it means its at the office where you collect your parcels when you really weren't in.

You can arrange re-delivery on line with the tracking number and today's date so hopefully it will get delivered. Thursday would be the earliest now. Its weird though that a form wasn't left even when you were in.

Thanks again, filled it in so lets hope something progresses. Also contacted them via Email. Just hope it doesn't mean that not enough postage was paid or that customs want extra. Maybe the address was damaged or something. Typical this happens on a rare and 'one off' item!

The item may be subject to a surcharge, if so then a grey & white will probably be delivered tomorrow.

Well around £50 but would value it a lot higher, just happened to win it off Ebay at that price.

Hope theres no surcharge but have a feeling there might be, will pass it on to the seller if so.

If it's £50 that's on parcel it definitely will attract a surcharge of around £19, you shouldn't pass that into seller as beaus rules state that buyer is liable for customs fees not the seller

Only if it is a VAT-able item.

Would appear they have. Got a customs form through the post demanding £14, £8 for handling!

The item was not new and i also contacted the seller who says he has posted 100's of items to UK before with no tax problems.

Really hacked off, debating whether to just leave it and let them return to sender.

No way i can contest this charge?

the only way you can contest the charge is if its been applied incorrectly, and going by the value of the item you gave it more than likely has been done correctly, some items do get through without being charged they are the lucky ones, but most are usually caught and charged, you are actually lucky going by what you have said the charge should have been a lot higher, the charge is based on the value of the item which you say is actually more than you paid, so by the seller only putting the value you paid on the item its actually been undercharged for the correct vat value

They won't be getting a penny out of me anyway. A real shame but a good priced item is now not so good. If it was just the £6 customs then i would have paid it but not with £8 handling fee on top.

Thanks for your replies.
