Bulk Certificate of Posting completion question

Post by sholland »

Hello.
I occasionally use the A4 size Bulk certificate of posting as downloaded from RM site. This is where I have a few items and to save the cashier time typing in each individual address into a receipt.
Today I handed it over with a few items and when returned it to me it only had the rubber stamp mark. None of the other details were filled in by the cashier.
I politely asked her to complete the details. She said it was not required. I asked her to at least sign it, but she said she would only initial it, not sign it and not fill in her name, number of items or date as these were not required.
I find this strange. Is this correct? If so, why are the dotted lines there to complete anyway?
My concern is that if I needed to submit a lost item claim that RM may say the form was not completed properly.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks sholland

as long as it has the time/date stamp on it from the post office, thats all it needs for a claim, the counter assistant should be filling in the rest as its her job to do it but its not necessary for the claim

if they are getting arsey about it, just ask them to provide the proof themselves, and you could really piss them off by having already pre paid all the items with online postage

Thanks for reply.
There is just the round date stamp and a squiggle that bears no resemblance to any alphabet that I know.
I buy post as needed when posting, not online. As long as what I have is sufficient to support ay claim, I am ok with it. I just didn't want to be refused any possible claim by being told the other lines were incomplete. I must admit it is rare anything goes missing though.
Thanks anyway,
sholland

You are doing them a favour by bringing in the doc pre-filled. If they are too lazy then simply don't bother and have them complete the Certs. of Posting themselves.
