Relocating An Existing Post Box

Can anybody advise me on the proceedures of relocating an exisiting post box that sits within the adopted highway.

You need to speak to your local delivery office manager, he has the power to request this

However it is usually very difficult to get permission to do this

What are your reasons for requesting the move?

Doubt you'll get a response from the original poster from 10 years ago but the Royal Mail website seems to
suggest you would have to approach Royal Mail to get a postbox moved (as does the example in the Metro article):

but if you look at the Google Street View image (dated Mar 2022, three years after the Metro article) doesn't look like the property owner has had
much joy in getting it moved!

Thanks yellowbelly. It's worth mentioning the local authorities apparently have no powers regarding postboxes. The reasons in our case was the Royal Mail suggests that a brick wall needed to be rebuilt and they claim to be unable to park next to box as they is a single yellow line (has been there for many years and can drop off/collect). The wall is being rebuilt and with support of two local councillors I am contacting Royal Mail to be put back. You have to go through customer services as can't contact locally. These boxes are put back in storage and not sold. The relocation they don't seem to want engage with. It appears boxes are gradually being removed if roadworks or accidents and not returned so has to have fewer collections.
