I've sent a bunch of parcels through the same Post Office, all via Special Delivery. Most have arrived, but one is still showing as being last tracked and Manchester if I go through this link - http://www.royalmail.com/trackdetails" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
17/12/12 21:27 COLLECTED MANCHESTER MAIL CENTRE
17/12/12 16:22 ACCEPTED AT POL (I've edited out the Post Office Address)
If I go through the Track and Trace link on RM's website, it just says it's progressing through the network. But I posted this on the 17th Special Delivery, and it's still showing that, nearly a day later. Should I be worried? Or is Royal Mail just on a go-slow due to a large amount of X-Mas Post? The destination is London.

I wouldn't worry, but I'd certainly continue to check and if the scanning time/date eventually arrives online and it's not before 1pm today, then I'd put in a claim for the money back!
Send RM a message on Twitter ( @RoyalMail ) tomorrow, they're very prompt at responding and might have more info if it's not appeared online.

Manchester MC are not scanning item out to other Mail Centres. They are scanning all items in and then just sorting them. It will probably show Scanned to DO or Allocated to Walk next.
Also Manchester MC failed its outward SD despatch on Monday by about 2000 items, which weren't done till Tuesday.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

AFAIK, the NIMC hasn't failed it's specials (it doesn't seem to be failing anything at the minute, 2nd class letters, posted in Belfast yesterday, posted by me today).
