Modernisation.

To be honest not sure if you are a Customer or a MC wallah (as per your membership colour) as if you are an MC you'll be aware of all the failed revisions he have on here (Glasgow suffering its own), and aware of all the Mail Centre closures, which are still not complete, and the World Class Mailing which Glasgow is going through.

As a customer as per your previous post that you are using only 2nd class stamps then that could it down as that service is sold as an Aim to deliver in 3 days but can take 5 days but as its not a guaranteed service it could be any-time soon. :nervous

Your not a postie and I claim my £5

£1.19 won't be weight - you have sent a large item with an ordinary stamp. As a customer "Pricing in Proportion" may have passsed you by, but as a Postie working even in a Mail centre, you would have been briefed about it in a WTL, and you would have been aware of these items going to, or coming from, "Revenue Protection". :wave :wave

Okay so you might be a postie, but not a well informed one.

so if you buy a card in a supermarket and a packet of stamps, you still have to go to a post office to get it measured??? defeats the point does it not? sounds like a lot of fuss just to send a birthday card, and im not a postie im a lorry driver

It should say on the back of the card the dimensions or what size card it is. Don't know if that applies to Image

Where you buy your card and / or stamps from has got nothing to do with it.
On the packet of stamps it will plainly say "Valid for items up to :
240mm Long
165mm Wide
5mm Thick
100g Weight"
and if you choose to ignore that Thick doesn't just apply to the depth of the card.

Nope no need look on the 4th face - or back of the card and you'll see a logo telling you which is the appropriate size stamp to buy

Which is fine as long as the wad of £20 notes you've put in the card does't make it more than 5mm thick.

If you send a lot of items it may be worth paying the price of £12+ for one.

You could send off to Royal Mail for free stout cardboard ones, as good as the the plastic ones used in Post Offices, when PPI was introduced. :Very Happy
Mine's as good as new nearly six years later. :Very Happy
