Hi
A customer of mine sent a special delivery parcel on Tuesday 20th August 24, it says it has been received by London Central MC. Then no further activity has occured. Beyond starting a claim is there anything that can be done to get the parcel moving again?

Yes its stopped dead, the good news is that the sender can claim postage back now if the service failed to meets its promise.
The only way to "get it moving" is to contact Royal Mail officially and make a claim against them. They will ask for details including the contents of the parcel. You can do that by calling them on their customer service number, or on twitter @royalmailhelp twitter could also send you a claim form.
What SOMETIMES happens is that when a claim is placed, they ask the office to do a sweep and it turns up, but its not 100% certain to do so.
