I bought from a US seller, they sent me the incorrect stuff so I initiated a return.
The seller told me to book the free collection service from royal mail, and so I did. The parcel was in it's original status with no new labels etc added and the collecting guy was happy to accept it.
Now it's been 2 weeks since I posted, today I checked the tracking website and it shows my parcel was "refused by recipient" the day after I posted it. and it's been going in loops ever since. I contacted both royalmail and my seller, and recon the problem was that I should have paid for a return postage label, or requested the seller to provide a label.
Now, how do I ask royalmail to break the infinite loop and return that parcel to me? That parcel had my address as the "recipient" from the initial delivery, but now I'm the "Sender" after initiating the return, I assume royalmail doesn' t know where to return it any more.
Would really appreciate any help! Thanks so much

Re: Returned parcel refused by recipient
My thoughts - I think the 'Refused by recipient' scan was done by your local postie to indicate (without a new returns label) that you refused it and it was to go back to the sender in the US as it wouldn't have got to the US that quickly.CoraTheQueen wrote: ↑06 Jul 2024, 12:53I bought from a US seller, they sent me the incorrect stuff so I initiated a return.

To me it sounds like the seller was hoping to get away without paying for their mistake. Was there a return address on the parcel and did you cross out your own address? I'm thinking that a parcel sorting machine is reading your address still and sending it in your direction and then a human being is seeing that it's got some sort of return to sender indication on it and putting it back in the system. Hopefully a human will spot the error.
You could try RM again and say this is the tracking number, it's stuck in a loop between A and B (which you've identified from the tracking), can someone lay their hands on it and send it in the right direction (whether that's back to you to get a proper return label put on it or send it back to the US directly), but with hundreds of thousands of parcels passing through the system daily, I don't know the chances of that being a possibility.

Re: Returned parcel refused by recipient
Can you post the tracking number so we can see if it's bouncing between your local DO and the nearest mail centre or if it's bouncing between mail centres?
