Special delivery hasn't moved in over 24 hours?

Hiya, having a little bit of an issue as im currently stressing over a package. i can understand why it would be delayed as storm agnes has just blown through but the lack of clarification is slightly worrying. My package was posted yesterday by a sender at 5 past 4pm and i understand thats a bit tight and the pick up times might've missed that. However it noted that my package had been picked up and sent to the local mail centre at Tyneside. I know the north was getting the brunt of the storm and the status updates on the RM website noted that a train had arrived late to the northeast mailing centre to deliver post to the princess royal centre in london which should handle my package judging by my postcode. I can understand that a train may have been grounded to wait out the storm but the lack of information and the fact that my package has been sat there for over 24 hours is quite unsettling considering its been put in with special delivery 1pm guarantee. i would love some insider knowledge if anything is going on such as rail strikes, rail disruption, road issues and so forth that may calm down my anxious mind! thank you!!
