Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any guidance. My elderly mother has had some pretty nasty experiences when receiving deliveries through RM and I’m not sure how to go about reporting them or if anything will even be done it.
The first time, the guy made inappropriate sexual comments about my mom’s body and tried to guide her hand to “touch” him through his clothes. The second time, a different guy shouted at her for not getting to the door fast enough. I was on the phone with her and heard everything, from the fact that she DID get to the door in a timely manner to the fact that he kept berating her after she’d apologised multiple times, until she had to just close the door in his face because he wouldn’t stop.
She wouldn’t be willing to go to the police over anything like this but it’s obviously not acceptable behaviour. Can anything else be done about it? I’m in my 30s and I would have been shaken up, so I hate to think of it happening to her or anyone vulnerable.
To other customers, please be careful. If you’re vulnerable, perhaps answer the door with the chain on and ask for the parcel to be left on your doorstep where you can retrieve it after they’ve left, if it can’t fit through the chain gap. It would be great if we could place some level of trust in posties, most are lovely, but unfortunately there are some bad eggs in every part of society. Take care x
