Last scan: Item Despatched to Royal Mail site

Post by gouryella1982 »

Hi,
I sent a parcel on Thursday 26 May destination USA. As of today there are no updates, just the ones on the day I posted it (26th) with the last one being at 8PM saying Item Dispatched to Royal Mail site. When I click on info it says "your item is due to leave Sheffield..." So could it still be in Sheffield or could it be at Heathrow awaiting a scan?

I have sent half a dozen items by International Tracked over the last few months and I just checked the tracking on them and all had updated between 3 and 4am on the following day (so within 12 hours) with received at Heathrow.

Wondered if anyone else has recently experienced anything similar and/or if there are delays sending mail to the USA.

It might be a problem with the contents. What did you send?

That shouldn’t cause a problem if you filled in the customs form and attached it to the parcel.

Yes attached it to the parcel. I bought the postage online and filled the customs form out during the process. Printed the postage label and customs form before attaching. That's why I can't understand why there still hasn't been an update if there's no delays. It's a box about 30x25x18 and weighs 1.5KG so surely can't have fell down a crack somewhere and be lost.

Still not clear what exactly that last entry means. I'm assuming it would have been sent to the Heathrow Distribution Centre or is there another stop in between as it just says a Royal Mail Site.

Just my luck to happen to the most expensive item out of the half a dozen I've sent internationally.

Update to say the tracking updated to being at a sorting office in USA early this morning. So looks like it went as scheduled but somehow didn't get the usual tracking updates before leaving the UK.
