Easter?

Post by Flibblers »

Hello fellas and fellaettes, thank you again for your hard work!

I was just wondering, if I want something in Liverpool Special Delivery on Thursday, should it arrive on the Saturday? Sorry for being a pain, I wouldn't leave it so late if I wasn't disabled.

Best regards!

If you send it *before last collection* on Thursday then it should arrive on Friday. Last collection times vary from place to place.

Saturday delivery is more complicated. It attracts an additional charge and it isn’t available for all destinations. That’s because many businesses etc don’t have anyone available to sign for it on a Saturday.

Wait, Friday as in Good Friday in the UK? I thought that there was no mail on Good Friday.

As for Saturday, that is what confuses me! I always send mail SD on Friday and it turns up on Saturday regardless of whether it's Saturday guarantee or regular SD when it's a city based delivery.

Thank you so much for your help and patience!

This Friday is a bank holiday for workers in England (workers in Scotland do not get Good Friday off)

From your post I would suggest if going from Birmingham to Liverpool - and posted before final collection times at a Post Office - normally it would be delivered on the next working day.

For accurate information - please check the Royal Mail website here https://www.royalmail.com

You would have to get "Saturday Guaranteed" to ensure they get it on Saturday, as though in most cases they will try to deliver on Saturday, without the Saturday Guaranteed there is a chance they won't, especially if there are absences or heavy demand on resources.
